The national working committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed the 103rd national executive committee (NEC) meeting. The event was scheduled for October 15 at the party’s headquarters in Abuja. Ahead of the 2027 general election, the national assembly is proposing that presidential and gubernatorial polls be held in November 2026 instead of the traditional February or March date. The family of late Bilyaminu Bello has faulted the clemency granted to Maryam Sanda, who was sentenced to death for killing Bello, her husband, in 2017. In a statement on Monday, Bello Mohammed, on behalf of the deceased’s family, said the pardon for Sanda “reopened healing wounds”.
