A federal high court in Abuja has granted bail to Abubakar Malami, former attorney-general of the federation (AGF), in the sum of N500 million. Delivering ruling on Wednesday, Emeka Nwite, presiding judge, also granted bail to his son, Abubakar Abdulaziz Malami, and his wife, Bashir Asabe, on a N500 million bail bond each. Each of the defendants must produce two sureties in like sum who must own landed property within Asokoro, Maitama or Gwarimpa areas in the FCT.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has resumed the nationwide continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise, marking the start of the second phase of the process. The resumption which took effect today, follows the conclusion of the first phase of the CVR that formally ended on December 10, 2025. INEC had launched the online pre-registration for the exercise on August 18, 2025, before commencing in-person registration at designated centres nationwide on August 25, 2025.
