The national industrial court in Abuja has granted an interim injunction restraining members of the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) from embarking on any form of strike or industrial action. Authorities in Jersey will repatriate more than $9.5 million (£7 million) linked to “tainted property” to the Nigerian government. Mark Temple, attorney-general of Jersey, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nigeria in December to facilitate the return of the funds, which were held in a bank account on the island. President Patrice Talon of the Republic of Benin has granted clemency to Benjamin Egbaji, a Nigerian pastor who had been incarcerated in the neighbouring country for over two years.
