Ibadan / Lagelu, Oyo State — January 1, 2026
Hon. Aduragbemi Idogbe, Leader of the Legislative Arm of Lagelu Local Government and Councillor representing Ward 5, has extended warm New Year felicitations to residents and stakeholders across Lagelu area, emphasising unity, development, and community empowerment as central themes for the year ahead.
In a statement released to the press to usher in the New Year, Hon. Idogbe thanked constituents for their resilience and support throughout 2025, noting that the past year presented both challenges and opportunities for grassroots governance. He urged residents to sustain a spirit of cooperation and collective responsibility as the community crosses over into 2026.
“As we welcome the New Year, let us continue to build together — with faith, determination, and a shared commitment to the growth of Ward 5 and the wider Lagelu community. I pray for peace, good health, and economic opportunities for every household in our local government,” Idogbe said in his message.
Hon. Idogbe also highlighted ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at improving basic services and quality of life for his constituents. While specific program details were not disclosed publicly at the time of the statement, he reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive representation and grassroots engagement as fundamental pillars of his legislative leadership.
The New Year message resonates with similar calls from leaders across Ibadan and Oyo State, emphasising peace, unity, and socio-economic progress for all residents. Earlier, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, urged indigenes and residents to embrace unity and constructive resolutions for the year ahead, noting that peace and cultural cohesion are key to realizing shared aspirations for the region.
Idogbe’s message blends personal goodwill with a broader push for civic engagement, echoing a wider trend among local representatives who use the New Year period to reinforce bonds with constituents and articulate goals for the coming year.
