A 45-year-old mother of two, Bunmi Ojo, has been reported dead in the Akilapa area of Olodo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to neighbors who spoke with Apollo Media, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday after Bunmi, who had a male visitor, suddenly began coughing. She was quickly rushed to the hospital by her next-door neighbor, where she was confirmed dead.
One of the neighbors revealed that the male visitor, whom Bunmi allegedly met online, attempted to flee upon their return from the hospital but was restrained.
A child of the deceased told Apollo Media that their mother appeared healthy the previous night and had even prepared food for the family before going to bed.
As of the time of filing this report, the Police has retrieved the body while the unidentified male visitor is in custody at the Iyana Offa Police Division.
The Police confirmed that investigations into the circumstances surrounding Bunmi Ojo’s death are ongoing.
