In a heartwarming display of gratitude and political alignment, the Ona-Ara chapter of the Senior Citizens Association has declared its allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), inspired by the life-changing initiatives of Hon. Chief (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, widely known as OTOPE.

The landmark declaration took place during the OTOPE Foundation Medical Outreach for Retirees and the Elderly, held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Foundation’s office, Sheriff Bus Stop, off Akanran Road, Ibadan, in the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.

Prophetess D.F. Idowu, the Association’s Treasurer, expressed her admiration for Dr. OTOPE’s humanitarian service. “With what we’ve heard about Dr. OTOPE and what we witnessed today, all our members have resolved to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” she affirmed.

Echoing her sentiments, Comrade Kola, the State Chairman of the Oyo State Senior Citizens Association, commended Dr. OTOPE’s unwavering commitment to elderly welfare.

“Our Association met with OTOPE last year, where he promised to reach out to us. Today, we witnessed the fulfillment of that promise. We underwent various medical check-ups, and every individual received prescribed medications,” he stated

The event drew notable dignitaries, including; Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Dr. Kolapo Temitope-Glorious, Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Hon. Mosobalaje Bakare, Ona-Ara PDP Chairman, Alh. Waheed Adurodekun, PDP Leader, Ona-Ara born investigative journalist, Segun O. Akinlabi, YCYW National Coordinator, Asoju Odo Alawode Rahmon, Several ward chairmen, Councillors, Special Assistants and grassroots political stakeholders.

All in attendance commended Dr. OTOPE’s consistent efforts to bridge the gaps in healthcare and social welfare, especially for senior citizens in the constituency.
