As the new week begins, a loyalist of Governor Seyi Makinde, Moyosoreoluwa Olamilekan Eldreez, popularly known as IJOBA AUTHORITY MOE, has reaffirmed his commitment to advocating inclusive development across all zones of Oyo State, leaving no stone unturned.
Speaking with journalists on Monday, January 19, 2025, Moe reviewed the administration’s performance across key sectors—public infrastructure, education, security of lives and property, Agribusiness, tourism, and institutional reforms—acknowledging the steady strengthening of systems that improve daily life in communities.
He cautioned that 2026, being a politically sensitive year, will attract distractions from mediocre and political charlatans, urging the government not to relent or lose focus. According to him, while the four pillars of the Makinde administration remain intact, the people are still anticipating the full delivery of promises made between 2019 and 2027.
Moe highlighted major achievements of the administration, including nearly 500km of roads, over 351 Primary Health Care centres, strong institutional frameworks, the Alakia Airport upgrade to international standards, ATC Fasola Industrial Hub, Eruwa/Ijaiye Agribusiness clusters, junction upgrades with traffic lights, and over 300km of light-up projects. He specifically cited the ongoing Iwo Road–Monatan–Olodo road construction extending to the Iwo Osun border being handled by Messr Peculiar as over due for commissioning, absence of Govt/legislative oversight function hence the need for the House of Assembly led by Rt. Speaker, Adebowale Edward Ogundoyin to summon the contractor for questioning on why the project has taken longer than expected (more than 3years) as a strategic inter-state corridor critical to commerce and mobility.
Despite these strides, Moe stressed the need for stricter monitoring, thorough inspections of ongoing projects, closer contractor supervision for value for money, improved PHC facilities at ward levels, rehabilitation of local government Secretariat, and greater operational independence for state agencies like OYRLEA, OMASED, OYSPPMA.
He concluded that Oyo State’s sustained greatness depends on collective responsibility, emphasizing that empowering the youth—the “ancestors of tomorrow”—and strengthening governance systems remain the key to enduring development.
