The Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, has extended warm birthday felicitations to prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and former Oyo State Commissioner, Elder Oribayo Okeyode, describing him as a pillar of wisdom, dedication, and selfless service to the people of Lagelu.
In a heartfelt message released on Saturday, Hon. Kamorudeen praised Elder Okeyode for his immense contributions to grassroots politics, community development, and the growth of the PDP in Lagelu LGA and across the state. The veteran politician, who hails from the Lalupon area in Lagelu Local Government, has served in various capacities that included state Commissionership and local government Chairmanship, and has remained a respected elder statesman and community leader.
“Today, we celebrate a man of integrity, experience, and unwavering commitment to the progress of our people,” Hon. Kamorudeen stated. “Elder Oribayo Okeyode has been a guiding light in our political journey, offering wise counsel and steadfast support to the PDP family. His decades of service have inspired many, including myself, to prioritize the welfare of our communities.”
The chairman also took the opportunity to celebrate Mrs. Okeyode, acknowledging her steadfast support and partnership in Elder Okeyode’s remarkable journey. He commended her on the grace of quiet strength, and role in sustaining the family while standing by her husband through decades of public service and community leadership.
The Lagelu Chairman, who has been at the forefront of transformative infrastructure projects in the local government – including road construction, borehole provisions, market development, and security enhancements under Governor Seyi Makinde’s Omituntun agenda, emphasized that Elder Okeyode’s legacy continues to motivate younger leaders in the party.
