Day 2 of the Oyo State International Agribusiness Summit 2025 delivered vital engagements as The Phenomenal Dr. Debo Akande, Director-General of OYSADA and Executive Adviser to the Governor on International Cooperation and Development — led Governor Seyi Makinde, delegates and international guests ( Belgium , Brazil) through a series of strategic side events.
The day began at IITA, Ibadan, where stakeholders from the cocoa, cashew and livestock value chains, including ILRI, held extensive technical discussions. These sessions enabled experts to present recommendations directly to Governor Makinde, with immediate actions initiated toward setting up committees to fast-track implementation.
The delegation later proceeded to the Oyo State Agribusiness Transformation Centre (ATC), Fasola, where Dr. Akande guided the Governor and investors on a facility tour showcasing operational Agribusiness enterprises. Highlights of the visit included:
1️⃣ Grandir Cashews Company – cashew processing
2️⃣ AATF Facility – cassava value chain development
3️⃣ Brown Hill Farms – tomato, banana and plantain powder production
4️⃣ Troli International – producers of Peperetti sauce
5️⃣ Milkin Barn Cattle Ranch – dairy expansion hub
Speaking after the tour, Dr. Akande described the summit as highly impactful, reaffirming that Oyo State is positioned for major Agribusiness investments, including the anticipated $400m cocoa value chain project driven by investor confidence.
He commended Governor Makinde for his strong leadership and unwavering political will in advancing Agribusiness transformation. Delegates, partners and teams who contributed to the success of the summit were also recognized during a lunch reception at ATC Fasola.
