A socio-political movement committed to supporting Engr. Dotun Sanusi in his vision for a greater Oyo State, the Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group, has felicitated with a former Governor of the State, Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja on his ascension to the throne of Olubadan of Ibadan land.
The felicitation is contained in a congratulatory press release signed and issued in Ibadan on Saturday by the Convener of the group, Mr Younoos Akinade.
The Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group, which joined other sons and daughters of Ibadan land to grace the coronation of Oba Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan land, described the coronation as an historical and landmark event.
“The coronation of His Imperial Majesty Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland is not merely a cultural ceremony, but a reaffirmation of Ibadan’s strength, unity, and timeless heritage”, the group said.
It prayed for the newly crowned monarch and his subjects to enjoy a peaceful and prosperous reign.
“We pray that the reign of Oba Adewolu Ladoja will be marked by peace, prosperity, and the kind of wise leadership that strengthens the bonds of unity in Ibadanland and across Yorubaland. May his reign bring harmony, transformation and long lasting developments to Ibadan and Oyo State”.
Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group assured that it will support the new monarch and other leaders of Oyo State while also promising to continue to promote the cultures and ethical values of Ibadan people.
The socio-political group lauded its principal, Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi, for being among the first set of illustrious indigenes to pay homage to the new Olubadan and also attended his coronation at Mapo Hall on Friday alongside other eminent sons and daughters of Ibadanland.
Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group noted with satisfaction that: “the presence of Engr Sanusi was a clear demonstration of his deep respect for the traditional stool, his love for Ibadanland, and his firm belief that progress must always stand side by side with tradition”.
The Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group further appreciated the leaderships and supporters of the movement including a former Chairman of Ibadan North East, Honourable Gbenga Adewusi popularly known as Arole and the Mogaji of Onilari family compound Asiwaju Nurudeen Akinade for their guidance and inspiration which invigorated the movement.
