The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State successfully conducted its Local Government Congress on Saturday, 20th of September 2025— electing a new set of local executives to steer the party’s affairs for the next term. The event, held at Iyana-Offa, was marked by enthusiasm and unity among party members, signaling a renewed commitment to strengthening the PDP’s presence in the region.
The congress, attended by party stalwarts and observers, saw a transparent and democratic process as members voted to elect new leaders to represent the party at the local level. The congress also featured remarks from key figures, including Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru, the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Akintunde Emmanuel, Chief. Babatunde Tijani, Elder Oribayo Okeyode, Alh. Omobayonle Ibitoye among others.
On his part, the chairman of Lagelu local government, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru commended the PDP for its commitment to democratic principles and urged the new executives to prioritize thorough community engagement and development. He emphasized the need for the party to work closely with local stakeholders to address pressing issues such as infrastructure, security, and empowerment, aligning with his administration’s vision for a “secure, prosperous, and connected Lagelu.
Party members expressed optimism about the new leadership, citing their track record and dedication to the PDP’s ideals.
