The Federal Government, through the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, FCIArb (UK), has ordered sweeping interventions in recent high-profile aviation cases.
Keyamo directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to withdraw all criminal complaints against Fuji music legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, while reducing his flight ban from six months to one month.
In the same breath, the Minister ordered the reinstatement of flying licenses for VALUEJET’s Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba after they serve a one-month suspension.
On the case of Ms. Comfort Emmanson of Ibom Air, Keyamo engaged the airline to secure the immediate withdrawal of its complaint, directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to fast-track her release from Kirikiri Prisons this week, and successfully appealed to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to lift the lifetime flight ban placed on her.
The Ministry stressed that these decisions reflect its commitment to fairness, due process, and amicable dispute resolution in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
