The Chairman, Nigeria Conference of Speakers, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, has called for urgent diversification of the nation’s economy.
Honourable Ogundoyin made the call while featuring on a monitored televised programme in Ibadan.
Honourable Ogundoyin, who is also the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, blamed Nigerian political structures for the multifaceted challenges bedeviling the nation.
Honourable Ogundoyin also decried the self-serving nature of Nigeria’s political class and called for a new and more inclusive approach to governance.
While lamenting Nigeria’s deepening crisis of governance, insecurity, and lack of ideological direction, the speaker suggested that States must be empowered to play critical roles in internal security.
Honourable Ogundoyin also condemned the federal government’s failure to publish the names of those allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
