Oyo State Governor, Engineer Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde has called on the House of Assembly through the house committee on local government, Chieftaincy Matter and State Honors chair by Hon Olajide Akintunde AKT to conduct an oversight function over 30 kilometers internal roads awarded to the local government chairmen across the state if fuel play perceived.
This statement was made in Governor Makinde’s address during a special plenary to Commemorate the second year of the Oyo 10th Assembly anniversary, this statement contained in the response to the honorable members agitations about the bad State of internal roads in the local government areas across the state.
In the presence of the chairman Association of Local Government of Oyo State (ALGOS) and Egbeda local government chairman, Hon Sikiru Sanda, Governor Makinde ordered the chairman house committee on local government, Chieftaincy matter and State Honors, Hon Olajide Akintunde AKT to scrutinize the council chairmen across the state over 30 kilometers internal roads awarded.
“Concerning the internal roads across the local government areas in the state, I consulted the commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Matters and asked the authority to incur expenditure for them to grade 30 kilometers of road across the local government areas in the state.
“so if they have not done 30 kilometers of road in your own local government, atleast you have oversight from the house, I employ the house to do an oversight function the project- Hon AKT, it’s your job not in my hand again”,- the statement reads.
