The Oyo state government has commissioned the double lane of the newly reconstructed Olodo bridge for residents and motorists.
Governor Seyi Makinde represented by his deputy, Chief Bayo Lawal on Tuesday 16th, officially commissioned the bridge for use saying the construction of 35.6km Iwo road – Olodo bank – Elesingodogbo–Odo-Oba (Oyo/Osun State boundary) was borne out of the passion of the current administration’s commitment to improve on road infrastructure in the state.
Amidst heavy downpour, Governor Makinde said the state will continue to prioritize projects with potentials for expansion of the economy of the state for a modern Oyo State.
While declaring the bridge commissioned, Governor Makinde expressed satisfaction in the process and execution of the project- imploring the residents, motorist and users that’ll be plying to maintain and activate maintenance culture so as to serve its time and purpose.
“It is with fulfillment and joy that I welcome you to the event of today which is a further demonstration of this administration’s commitment to the delivery of dividend of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state without regard to the political inclination, religious affiliation or socio-economic group of our people.” he said
Dignitaries at the event were: the deputy governor, Chief Bayo Lawal, Commissioner for Works Hon Mogbonjubola, Chairman house committee on works Hon kehinde Deacon, Former Deputy Governor Hazeem Gbolarumi, Commissioner for Land, housing and urban development Mr Akin funmilayo Williams, Egbeda LG Chairman Sikiru Sanda among others.
